Sananga (*Tabernaemontana sananho*)

Sananga is a sacred Amazonian botanical preparation made from the carefully shredded roots and bark of the Tabernaemontana sananho shrub. Revered by indigenous hunters and healers throughout the Upper Amazon Basin (including the Yawanawá, Kaxinawá, and Shipibo lineages), Sananga has been used for centuries to clear panema (dense energetic lethargy) and ground presence prior to ceremony.

Our Sananga is freshly extracted in small batches using traditional methods, honoring the living spirit of the plant and supporting ethical jungle harvesting practices.

Ceremonial Intent & Experience

  • Traditional Application: Administered as 1 drop per eye while resting in a seated or supine meditative posture.
  • Somatic Sensation: Produces an immediate, intense thermal sensation lasting 2–5 minutes. Practitioners focus on deep breathing, surrendering mental resistance to find stillness behind the sting.
  • Spiritual Focus: Applied to sharpen perceptual clarity, center the diagnostic eye, and calm internal chatter.
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated upon arrival. Shake gently before application. Shelf life is approximately 4–6 months when properly cooled.
